HHW & Buyback Closed Memorial Day

The household hazardous waste (HHW) and recycling buyback facilities will be closed Monday, May 25, 2020 in observance of Memorial Day. The remainder of the facility will be open.

MRF & Landfill
The facility is open for disposal every day of the year with limited hours on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.  Check our home page one week prior to the holiday for specific hours.

Recycling Buy-Back Center*
Customers can drop off clean, separated recyclables such as cardboard and mixed paper at no charge, and can turn in glass, plastic and aluminum beverage containers with a CA redemption value for a refund. CRV Pricing & Acceptance

Household Hazardous Waste* 
Placer County residents can drop off HHW at no cost. Residents and businesses may not transport – and the facility will not accept – more than 15 gallons or 125 pounds per trip.

Your waste hauler may also pick up limited HHW and electronics for free at your door!  Contact your hauler for more information or to schedule a pickup appointment.

Businesses generating small amounts of hazardous waste (CESQGs) can drop off materials for a fee.

Most residential and commercial customers, including those with non-dumping trailers, are charged by the cubic yard at the public scalehouses. Larger commercial customers and customers with dumping trailers or dump trucks are charged by the ton at the commercial scalehouses.

The WPWMA accepts cash, checks, Visa, Master Card and Discover.  We do not accept American Express.  Customers must have payment for each load at the time of disposal.  Staff is unable to accept payment over the phone.
